EssilorLuxottica has announced the launch of Nuance Audio Plus, the next generation of its open-ear technology hearing glasses. Hot on the heels of the launch of the first Nuance Audio Glasses, the new product combines improved audio performance, longer battery life and a broader frame collection, within a medical device designed to naturally accompany people in everyday life.
Nuance Audio Plus are designed to support people with a perceived mild to moderate hearing loss in different situations: from those who are starting to show the first signs of hearing loss, for example, noticing changes in their listening effort over time in different everyday situations, to those who are already aware of their hearing loss and are looking for a discreet solution.
Main features
- Invisible hearing aid: introduces important improvements in amplification, in the clarity of speech in noisy environments and in the perception of one’s own voice, as well as greater battery life, equal to approximately ten hours in conditions of average use of the product.
- Directional Amplification: Designed to improve speech clarity through directional microphones and beamforming technology, they help users focus on the conversations taking place in front of them.
- Open-ear comfort: the lightweight open-ear speakers, integrated into the temples, leave the ears free, ensuring prolonged comfort. A wider range of sizes, along with a universal fit and adjustable nose pads on some models, help ensure a stable and comfortable fit.
- All-in-one solution: a product designed to address both visual and auditory needs in a single device.
- Hands-free calling: When paired with an iPhone, the glasses allow users to answer and manage voice calls directly from the frame.
Models and packaging

Nuance Audio Plus are available in three frame styles (Square 53, Panthos 48 and Upturn 52) and five colors (Shiny Black, Brilliant Bordeaux, Deep Blue, Amber and Olive Green).
The standard package includes a charging base and a USB-C cable.
Apps and controls

The glasses can be easily managed via the Nuance Audio App. They also feature new controls directly on the frame, including a dedicated on/off switch and volume buttons, conveniently located on the temples. A dedicated remote control is also available separately. With the app, users can control:
- Audio modes: front, to focus on face-to-face conversations, and 360° mode, to amplify all surrounding sounds.
- Presets: Choose from pre-configured amp settings (A, B, C or D) to customize your listening experience.
- Background Noise: Adjust the level of background noise by choosing from three levels of noise reduction.
- Volume Level: Adjust the amplification volume on a scale of 1 to 5.
Lenses
The glasses can be equipped with any type of ophthalmic lens. They are also compatible with Transitions lenses.
