WhatsApp changes from April 11th: new age for access and opening to other platforms

One of the major difficulties, especially for those who use WhatsApp for work and has to manage numerous contacts, it is certainly that of finding someone when you do not remember the name of the profile you are looking for or in the event that a possible conversation already started with it is not among the most recent.

Precisely to remedy this situation, Meta has put its developers to work with the aim of creating a new functionality able to better organize contacts in various lists depending on the reference group you want to assign. A function currently available only in the beta 2.24.16.14 released for Android, which will be different from labels as well as being more practical, given that WhatsApp users should be able to manage contact categories without having to leave the app to search for them.

Still under development, the new feature called “Lists”, which would essentially be an evolution of labels, will allow users to better divide and organize people and groups, making searches and communications easier: profiles can therefore be inserted into easily understandable categories, such as “Work”, “Family” or “Friends”. Unlike labels, which require more cumbersome management, the new lists will be more practical, being able to be reached directly from the application settings menu through the “Manage people and groups” section.

The user should therefore have the ability to create ad hoc lists to organize groups and contacts and then insert them into each of them according to their needs: once this step has been carried out, using the list will allow you to filter conversations, displaying only those pertaining to the selected category. This will reduce search times and make chat management easier.

According to experts in WaBetaInfo“Lists” could also be used to manage WhatsApp statuses, allowing users of the app to share documents, photos and videos exclusively with a specific group or list of contacts.

A practical way to allow the user to decide who to show status updates to, protecting their privacy as best as possible in a quick and practical way. Since it is still in its infancy, the new feature, which is highly anticipated, will first have to go through the beta tester and their feedback.
