Spectrum explodes take -off: Europe still seeks its space among the stars

Don’t Panic, as appeared on the cover of the famous galactic guide for Douglas Adams’s self -lanes. Ditto for the spectrum. Which is not only the famous Sinclair computer of the early eighties, but also the name of the rocket developed by the German startup Isar Aerospace, which was to start from the Norwegian base of Andoya (above the Arctic Circle) last May 24, postponed for the weather conditions, and launched today, unfortunately exploding immediately after take off. The Spectrum was another 28 meters, designed to launch up to 1000 kg in low orbit or 700 in eliosyncrona orbit. It would have been the first European suborbital launch, and the EU needs to make itself autonomous to launch its satellite.

However, we are still a beginner (not only for the armaments), but there is no discouragement.

Just think that NASA, after the 2011 withdrawal of the Space Shuttle, used the Russian capsules Soyuz until the arrival of the Space X with Elon Musk, and of Razzi exploded, before reaching success with the Booster dei Falcon who fall alone, Musk has seen many of them. So much so that he published a self -deprecating video on YouTube with all the failures entitled: “How Not to Land a Rocket Booster”. So: forward with the next Spectrum.
