The skirmishes continue for the control of Ferretti SpA, the Italian giant of luxury yachts in the world and supplier to the Navy and Army. The latest news is that Kkcg Maritime, a major shareholder of the group, has filed an appeal with the specialized business section of the Bologna court requesting “urgent precautionary measures to suspend the effectiveness of the main resolutions approved by the Ferretti SpA shareholders’ meeting”, we read in a note. The reference is to the meeting of 14 May 2026, in which the new board of directors led by Weichai, a big industrial emanation of the Chinese state, was appointed.
Golden power, China and the military patrol boats used by the police
KKCG Maritime requested a new count of the votes cast at the meeting. According to the company, in fact, the voting rights of Ferretti International Holding (Fih), through which the Weichai group holds 39.5% of the capital of Ferretti SpA, should have been suspended pursuant to the Italian legislation on Golden power, due to the alleged failure to comply with notification obligations applicable to investments in companies owning assets and know-how of strategic importance for Italian national security and defence. Ferretti is a supplier of high-speed patrol boats, integrated communication and sensor systems for the navy, carabinieri, coast guard and police.
Yachts, military secrets and mysterious associates: the Chinese assault on Ferretti makes the Government tremble
Kkcg Maritime claims that, in the absence of the votes attributed to Weichai, the outcome of the meeting would have been different and that the proposals presented by Kkcg Maritime itself would have been approved, with direct consequences on the composition of the corporate bodies and the governance structure of the company. “In the absence of adequate checks, access or transfer of skills, data and sensitive information may lead to consequences that are difficult to reversible”, the KKCG thesis. Hence the request for urgent intervention and a check on compliance with the Golden Power legislation.
