The fifth edition of the Capo di Leuca Festival began. An international chamber review directed by the young talented artistic director Alessandro Licchetta - Carlo Franza's blog

When music becomes a community of community, training, culture and social growth, an experience is born that goes beyond the show; This is the spirit that animates the Fifth edition of the Capo di Leuca Festival, promoted by Eleusi APS. From 20 July to 7 September 2025, the more villages Fascinating from the South Salento will be crossed by a review that is confirmed among the most prestigious in Italy for chamber music and the promotion of the territory. Always marked in two parts, that is to say in two stages, between July and August and between August and September, the high -level international chamber review is involving not only locals but also tourists on vacation and passing through. We are in Salento and when it is said head of Leuca we mean that offshoot, that language of land that throws itself into the sea, between the Adriatic and Ionian. The exhibition involves young and old musicians who are measuring themselves in concerts of proven and tangible ability and competence. Let me say, the young pianist Alessandro Licchetta who belongs to this festival, and he is also the artistic director, he has well surprised me for his directional capacity as the thirty -year -old young man who is also a lawyer like his father Fabrizio, honors the great family of the Licchetta who brought and indicated the town of Corsano in Italy and in the world. Well, the Capo di Leuca Festival has now entered the heart of the chamber season 2025 which will undoubtedly have an increasingly distinct level echo. A music that crowns not only the musicians who will happen in concerts, but the territory that lives a culture that is not provincial but open to the whole world and Europe.

A festival that crosses the heart of Salento
This year the festival winds between Sixteen Municipalities: Alessano, Andrano, Castrignano del Capo, Corsano, Diso, Gagliano del Capo, Matino, Morciano di Leuca, Poggiardo, Presicce-Acquarica, Hi, Specchia, Taurisano, Taviano, Tricase, Ugento. Squares, castles, churches and ancient courtyards will welcome a calendar of concerts, events, exhibitions and tastings, putting tradition, creativity, new generations and artistic excellence in dialogue.

Direction, vision and team. At the helm of the artistic direction there is the pianist Alessandro Licchetta, a visionary soul of the project, flanked by an artistic committee made up of the bassotter, composer and conductor Lorenzo Baglivo, the violist Cristian Musio and the pianist Andrea Sequestro. The administrative management is entrusted to dr. Luca Antonio Esposito, whose experience guarantees rigor and transparency. Together, they create an event capable of uniting musical excellence, cultural opening and real attention to the needs of the communities.

The great interpreters of the 2025 edition
The Festival stands out for the high profile of the guest artists. On stage they will alternate, among others:

  • Anna Caterina Antonacci – International singer
  • Carlo Romano – formerly the first oboe of the Rai orchestra and Oboe soloist of Ennio Morricone
  • The brass quintet of the scale
  • Andrea Manco – First flute of the Orchestra of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan
  • Ivan Rabaglia – Violinist of the trio of Parma and teacher at the National Academy of Santa Cecilia
  • Roberto Corlianò – International relief pianist and teacher at the “N. Piccinni” Conservatory of Bari

  • Manrico Padovani – internationally renowned violinist

Alongside these big names, the Festival offers space for young musicians under 35 and winners of competitions, as well as from Italy, also from the USA, New Zealand, Spain, Austria, Germany, England, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia, Switzerland and China, creating a real intergenerational laboratory and a unique opportunity for growth and comparison.

The festival masterclasses: free training thanks to the SIAE call. One of the great news of this edition is the project “The Masterclass of the Capo di Leuca Festival”. Thanks to the victory of the call “For those who create” promoted by Siae and Mic in 2024, the masterclasses, reserved for young musicians, are totally free: an important opportunity for those who want to measure themselves with teachers and soloists of international prestige. Hosted in the same villages of the Festival, the Masterclass will see the presence of artists and teachers such as the brass quintet of the Scala, Ivan Rabaglia, Andrea Favalessa and Vincenzo Maltempo, and will offer children from the “T. Schipa di Lecce” Conservatory, partner of the project, and from all over Italy a true path of excellence, inclusive and accessible (with food and accommodation including).

Contributions and patrons

The Capo di Leuca Festival is created with the contribution and patronage of the Puglia Regional Council and the Municipalities involved, which believed and invested in the growth of the event. Their support was decisive to make this edition possible, which also enjoys the patrons of the Province of Lecce, the “T. Schipa” Conservatory of Lecce and the Sanctuary Basilica of S. Maria de Finibus Terrae. The collaboration with these institutions is testimony to the cultural and promotional value recognized at the Festival in the area.

Partners and sponsors

Among the supporters of the fifth edition of the Festival there is Apulian aqueduct. In fact, the festival strengthens the concrete commitment to a model of cultural use with low environmental impact, with particular attention to the management of water resources and the progressive elimination of disposable plastic. This will happen by inviting the public, the artists and the staff to use bottle and dedicate the symbolic and participatory moments of the encore to the cause (Bravo bis tap water).

Fundamental the support of partners: the Enoteca Melacotogna di Salve, the “Gli Ulivi” farmhouse in Tricase, the concert body Kettner Concerts of London, dance lights of Alessano, Torre Ospina di Racale, the Santa Lucia biomasseria of Alessano. Special thanks to the media partner Radiolere and Radio Peterpan, ambassadors of the event.
