The Israeli IDF publishes an AI-generated video comparing the war in Gaza to the World Cup: "You always lose"

The Israeli military has released an AI-generated video comparing the Gaza war to the World Cup, saying Gazans “always lose.” The images were published on the Almunaseq Facebook page, managed by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). “As you try to move towards a better future, you are led by a failed, disconnected and irrelevant group of inexperienced kids who continue to deny you any chance of escaping the greatest disaster in the history of the Gaza Strip,” the caption reads.

The video is not an isolated incident. Almunaseq, “The Coordinator,” is one of the channels through which Cogat, the Israeli unit responsible for coordinating government activities in the occupied territories, communicates in Arabic with the Palestinians. Formally, Cogat deals with Israeli civil policy towards the West Bank and Gaza and with humanitarian coordination.

Since the October 2025 ceasefire, large-scale fighting has reduced, but attacks have not stopped. A few days ago, Israeli raids on a Hamas-controlled police station and a vehicle killed at least nine people, as Egypt hosted new talks to save the truce. According to the same reconstruction, Israel and Hamas continue to accuse each other of violations: since the truce more than 950 Palestinians have died in Israeli raids and four Israeli soldiers in Palestinian attacks.

On the ground, the humanitarian situation remains critical. Ocha, the UN office for humanitarian affairs in the occupied Palestinian territories, in its June 5 report describes Gaza as “volatile and insecure”, with daily raids, a population still largely displaced, limited access to water, accumulation of waste, insect and rodent infestations, and aid slowed down by restrictions on crossings by the Israeli army.
