Today the Meloni Government officially enters the top ten executives for duration in the history of the Republic. And we don’t mean the Social one. If we didn’t have some antipathy for perfidious Albion and its barbaric language, we would say that Meloni is in the top ten of Italian heads of government. At the stroke of midnight she equaled – at 629 days – the sixth Andreotti government: those were the years 1989-1991. In less than two months she will surpass the Segni Government and in three she will take over the De Gasperi VII (while in 783 days come on, courage you can do it, it’s only 26 months and it will become the longest government ever, Ole!).
Who would have said in October 2022, the beginning of the march, that Giorgia Meloni would have come so far? Of course, one could say that by now, given the average political level, it takes little to achieve a lot. But some ideas – that are not that of making an alliance against someone but a project in favor of something – the current Government must have them. Otherwise it won’t last.
And for all those who instead evoke the specter of fascism and invoke Piazzale Loreto, let us remember that there are also less dramatic strategies. Like winning the elections.
Politicians are like dreams.
Either they are remembered immediately and remain for a long time; or they are not remembered and disappear forever. But Meloni is something else. She is a nightmare. For those who did not vote for her.
Oh well. Even if it were just for this, to be hated by the left, when she is no longer there we will be able to say that Giorgia “also did good things”.
