The price of diesel continues to rise and in some distributors has now exceeded the threshold of 3 euros per litre. The alarm was raised by Codacons, which analyzed the price lists communicated by the managers to the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy. The consumer association is now asking Mimit to clarify the higher values, to ascertain whether they are actually applied to motorists or whether they are the result of errors in data transmission.
Prices on the highway
On the motorway network, normal diesel in served mode has come close to the psychological threshold of 2.90 euros per litre. According to monitoring carried out by Codacons between yesterday and today, on the A11, A12 and A21 the price reached 2.899 euros per litre, while petrol exceeded 2.70 euros.
In total there are 13 motorways on which at least one plant sells the diesel served at more than 2.80 euros per litre. The indicated price is 2.874 euros on the A4 Milan-Brescia, 2.864 euros on the Naples ring road and 2.859 euros on the A14 Bologna-Bari-Taranto and on the A22 Brennero-Modena.
This is followed by the A8/A26 branch, with 2.844 euros per litre, the A1 Milan-Naples with 2.839 euros, the A15 Parma-La Spezia and the A24 Rome-L’Aquila with 2.829 euros. On the A13 Bologna-Padova the maximum price reported is 2,819 euros, while on the A5 Aosta-Quincinetto it reaches 2,814 euros.
The prices of special fuels are even higher. In fact, premium diesel reaches 3.048 euros per liter on the A4 Venice-Trieste and 3.019 euros on the A21 Turin-Piacenza.
Distributors with prices above 3 euros
The most anomalous data, however, concern some distributors in the ordinary network. In Belvedere di Spinello, in the province of Crotone, a plant communicated to Mimit a price of 3.189 euros per liter for the normal diesel served and 3.269 euros for the product called “Oro Diesel”.
Another case concerns six IP distributors in the province of Cuneo, from which a normal diesel price of 3.103 euros per liter was transmitted. For Codacons, these are values on which the ministry must intervene, checking whether they correspond to the price lists actually displayed or to incorrect communications.
The association also reports that it has submitted the issue to the Competition and Market Authority. The Antitrust, however, reportedly responded that it “did not detect any irregularities”.
