Russia and Ukraine resumed mutual attacks after a three-day truce, which coincided with meetings between US envoys in Moscow with Putin and in Kiev with Zelensky.
In Kiev, buildings on the outskirts were hit, leaving at least two dead and several injured. “The moment the US president’s peace envoys left, Putin launched another massive and terrible attack on Kiev,” the words of Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha.
However, Russia is also under attack from Kiev: Saratov has been hit and there are victims.
Bombs and victims
Russian attacks hit buildings across Kiev, including a five-story apartment building in the Solomianskyi neighborhood. Some vehicles caught fire in the Podilskyi neighborhood, authorities said. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said some people were trapped in a residential building.
Telegram channels monitoring air threats over Ukraine said Russia has begun carrying ballistic missiles and moving heavy bombers from the eastern part of the country to airfields closer to Ukraine. Poland also announced the start of “air operations” following the Russian attack.
On the opposite front, Ukrainian drones hit the Russian region of Saratov. According to the Russian news agency Tass, the attack caused damage to civilian structures and injured some people. News later confirmed by the governor of the region, Roman Busargin: “Civil structures were damaged in a drone attack on Saratov. All emergency systems are at work. Initial investigations indicate that there are injuries.”
