When we talk about care, it does not refer only to drugs and therapies, but also to empathy, listening and closeness. With this spirit, today, the sixth edition of the Humanizing Health Awards award was officially presented, an initiative that confirms the commitment in the field of the humanization of care by Teva, a leading pharmaceutical company in the market.
An important theme addressed during the round table “The cure beyond therapy: empathy and listening for greater proximity to patients and caregivers” which saw the participation of healthcare professionals, the third sector and representatives of the institutions, including Emanuele MontiPresident of IX Social Sustainability Commission House and Family, Lombardy Regional Council.

This commitment is particularly important in the management of chronic pathologies and pain, explains Licia Grazzi neurologist and head of the headache center of the Besta Institute of Milan: “Humanizing care means recognizing that behind each symptom there is a person, with its history, its fears and its hopes. In the treatment of headaches and neurological pathologies, listening is the first step for effective treatment. Our task is not only to alleviate a symptom, but accompany the patient on a path of care made of empathy, clarity and support, so that it is welcomed and understood in every phase of the disease “.
Nadia Faroni, director of the pharmacy of the Hospital Institute Poliambulanza Foundation of Brescia, adds: “Our structure wants to be a space in which to take care of people with attention, empathy and responsibility. Each therapy represents hope, concrete support for those who face the disease, and our task is to ensure that patients and their families are never lonely. Listening, dialogue and clarity are fundamental: explaining and accompanying the patient in therapy is an integral part of the cure. Because health is also measured by the quality of the relationship with the patient “.
The event lit the spotlight on the importance of a health approach based on humanity, dignity and compassion. Empathy is an essential value in the health care path, capable of transforming the experience of care and making it more holistic and respectful of the needs of patients and caregivers.
The Humanizing Health Awards 2025 is dedicated to the support of projects aimed at patients and their caregivers (unpaid), engaged in the assistance of people suffering from serious chronic diseases. The announcement is open to all non -profit entities operating to improve the quality of life of patients, offering them a more peaceful and dignified path of care.
Applications will be open starting today, March 11, until April 18, 2025 and the associations concerned will be able to consult the regulation on the Teva Italia website and present projects in one of the following five categories: caregivers, oncological pathologies, pediatric diseases, chronic diseases, mental health and neurodegenerative diseases.
Among all the candidate projects, the employees of Teva Italia will select the five winning projects that will be rewarded in the ceremony that will take place in September.
