A couple from Temecula, California (United States), woke up on the morning of Saturday 18 April to something decidedly unusual in their backyard: a hot air balloon with 13 people on board.
Emergency landing
As reconstructed by the US media, the pilot stated that he had to make an emergency landing because the balloon was in hovering flight and was running out of fuel. Luckily none of the passengers were injured, but the emergency landing caught the owner Hunter Perrin, who was watching TV at the time, and his wife Jenna, who was instead practicing yoga, by surprise.
The surprise in the garden
Despite the noise, the couple only realized the gravity of the situation when a neighbor alerted them to the unusual guest in their yard. “I was amazed by the fact that they missed our tree – said the woman -. They missed our house by just a little. They practically grazed the fence.” The hot air balloon, in fact, landed in a garden just three meters wide.
