On the evening of Sunday 7 September there will be the total eclipse of the Moon. Our satellite will enter the shadow cone formed by the interposition of the planet Earth compared to the sun. The rays of the star refractive from the atmosphere will give a “reddish” color to the moon in the penumbra phases before being totally obscured. When to see the total eclipse of the moon
The last total eclipse of the moon visible from our country dates back to May 16, 2022. The most recent one of February 14, 2025 escaped our eyes because it took place at 6 in the morning, when the satellite was now “setting”. For this reason, the appointment of 7 September is to be grasped to the leap. In fact, for fans the next occasion will reappear no earlier than 31 December 2028.
The entrance of the moon in the shadow cone will not be visible, it will occur around 5:28 pm. The beginning of the totality is foreseen at 19:30:41 and the phenomenon will be at its maximum at 20:12:58. The end of the totality will be around 20:52:47, while the exit from the penumbra at 22:55:00.
