Ukraine, the survey reveals what peace the people want

Maybe they understood that Donald Trump wants to close the accounts; Maybe it’s because, after three years of war, they’re tired; it may be that they have learned to be realistic and pragmatic; the fact is that the Ukrainians, according to a survey conducted by the Kiev International Institute of Sociology (Kiis), they want peace and even on conditions that are not exactly favorable.

47% of them are ready for a “postponement of the liberation of the temporarily occupied territories”, as long as the Russian veto on Ukraine’s entry into the Born. After that, it is good to read between the lines: the “temporarily occupied” territories risk remaining so for a very long time; and the “postponement of liberation” risks being an indefinite postponement.

In short, the people have smelled the bad news: the regions That Vladimir Putin conquered are unlikely to return under the full control of Kiev, which has always struggled to manage them, given the presence of numerous pro-Russian people – a factor that we must not forget, even if Moscow’s aggression against a sovereign country had made us lose sight of the problem of minorities who, culturally, do not feel they belong to the nation with the yellow-blue flag.

Thus, if it is true that the conditions of peace will have to be decided by those attacked, it is also true that they are showing us a precise path. And if democratic will counts more than power calculations, this will be the case whoever is responsible takes note of it.
