The announcement for the rent bonus for separated or divorced parents is ready. The publication is expected for today, October 7th. This was announced by deputy prime minister Matteo Salvini during the “Filorosso” broadcast on Raitre. Then there was confirmation with an official note from the ministry. “It will be published, and it is the first time in history that there is a similar initiative, on the website of my ministry, therefore on the website of the MIT, Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, the first notice for the payment of rent of up to six thousand euros per year for separated or divorced parents who, after a bad separation or a bad divorce, lose the house where they lived”, Salvini’s words.
The new bonus
The measure was introduced with the 2026 budget law. There are resources available for 20 million euros per year from 2026 to 2028, for a total of 60 million over the three-year period. The estimated audience is 15 thousand beneficiaries.
But who will be able to get the bonus? The contribution, as announced, will be allocated to separated or divorced parents who are not assigned their own family home and have dependent children up to the age of 21. The support can reach up to 500 euros per month for twelve months. There is an ad hoc platform for questions online.
“I count – said Salvini – that a few thousand fathers, because they are mainly fathers, but also separated mothers, can have help. Perhaps they continue to pay the mortgage of the house where their ex-partner or ex-partner lives and will receive support: up to 500 euros per month for the payment of 50% of the rent”.
