A few hundred demonstrators took to the streets in Anchorage to protest against the scheduled meeting between the Russian president Vladimir Putin and the president of the United States Donald Trump in Alaska. “It seems that they are using us to distract public opinion, and I don’t like this at all. I don’t like that my governor is thus enthusiastic to invite an international war criminal in our state and to host him here,” said Garrett Myran, veteran of the army who decided to join the event. While Geri Gutzwiller, a retired of Columbus, also demonstrating, said “you cannot negotiate without having all the parts at the table. The fact that Zelensky has been excluded … It is his country. Putin has invaded Ukraine”.
