Moments of strong emotion under Nicolas Sarkozy’s home, in the western part of Paris, when the former head of state, hand in hand with his wife Carla Bruni, left his home accompanied by his wife and headed towards the car that was waiting to take him to the Sante’ prison. The supporters, over a hundred, were waiting for him and wanted to touch him, they shook his hand, some hugged him amidst applause and chants. Sarkozy stopped with everyone, greeting and in some cases even exchanging kisses with those present. He greeted everyone, even those who chanted his name and shouted “Free Sarkozy” from the windows. Carla Bruni always remained close to him until he got into the car with the lawyer Christophe Ingrain, walking with his head bowed, without smiling.
