I too was struck by the news, from which you undoubtedly take inspiration to write this letter, of the sixteen year old who, in Frascati, was stabbed in the chest by a fourteen year old. For futile reasons, but the reasons behind similar acts of ferocity can only be and always be futile, that is, unable to justify this violence. It is increasingly unleashed for a nonnnula. In this case, it was a contrast that arose due to the sale, obviously illegal, of signed clothing, which the fourteen year old purchased online and resold to peers. In essence, this little more than child had started a criminal business and, even more impressive, turned armed and prepared to use the knife he kept in his pocket, having racimulated it in mother’s cuisine. The debt contracted by the victim would be only 60 euros, they had also been 600 or 6000 or beyond, nothing in the world makes the gesture of welcoming, wounding, taking life acceptable or understandable. The boy’s delinquenial caliber leaves us astonished. I do not intend to rail against the family, it seems that the parents of the stabbing, who is now in prison, are good people. But I do not even intend to minimize the responsibility of Santa and mom in a broad sense, when events of this kind occur and the protagonists are children who camp under parental authority. Although wanting, we cannot deny a responsibility, it is foreseen by the law. If a fourteen -year -old handle thousands of euros, how do parents do not notice? It is there that they do not notice that before going out he took a knife from the kitchen, who cannot be under key. But there is no one who does not realize that the son acquires signed, or counterfeit garments, claiming them. This stuff was not delivered to the family home? And how did the little girl pay it? In any case, there is now a sixteen -year -old who pours between life and death, who has passed two heart arrests, which came immediately after being reached by the blow, only thanks to the timely and miraculous intervention of a women’s doctor who casually passed from there on Saturday evening, from that square. I hope the boy survives. But are we, we will be able to survive this growing human degradation? Are these adults of tomorrow? It goes without saying that not generally, there are also young people with their heads on their shoulders and they are several. But it is a fact that they are several also those who go around armed. The question arises: why? What reason, however bizarre, induces them to take the blade and put it in the pocket of jeans? And is it possible that the parents, making the laundry, never come across similar gadgets? No, I don’t believe it. Forgive me.
I want to tell you something as curious as it is worrying. High school students frequently come to Palazzo Pirelli, home of the Lombard regional council, to visit the skyscraper and understand how the institution works. At the entrance it is a must to go through the safety checks and it happens not infrequently that, crossing the metal detector, it is discovered that they have white weapons on them. Why does a high school leaver warn the need to go to school or everywhere armed? We arise not only to offend but also and above all to defend yourself, from what and from whom? Why do these guys feel so fragile? I think they miss the reference points to them and with this I absolutely don’t want to justify them.
Parents are no longer able to make parents, that is to put limits, rules, supervise, control, punish when needed. And here is the worst: believing that you can perform anything, a teenager starts his illegal commercial activity, he leaves the house with the blade, stabbes the peers to adjust the accounts and assert himself. As if it were an adult enrolled in the mafia.
Trusing life, that life that seems to count less than a few euros. There is no perception of the value of life. And, when the value of life is not perceived, you cannot even be happy. You become leather wrapping capable of trying only anger or despair.
