WhatsApp ready to change again and offer further services to its users. According to the latest leaked information, a new feature will soon be available that will allow you to view and follow channels via QR codes. For the moment, as always, the innovation is only available to a few beta testers, but everything suggests that this possibility will soon be extended to all users.
According to what was reported by WABetaInfoWhatsApp has released its latest beta version for Android, i.e. number 2.24.25.7. Apparently this new package of updates also includes a function that allows you to scan QR codes and be able to follow and participate in channels thanks to them.
With this new option, currently in the testing phase, channel owners will have the opportunity to create a QR code and share that instead of the more traditional link. Anyone who intends to follow the channel, therefore, will be able to simply frame the QR code with their smartphone camera and access the channel in this way. A much faster procedure than the link, which will also avoid the risks associated with copying/pasting the URL. Not only that. It will also be possible to save the QR code, so you can reuse it. Anyone who wishes can also include it in a brochure or on a label.
But how do we proceed? To obtain the QR, simply open your channel, tap on the options sharing at the top and select the QR code option. For now this function is still limited to some testers, but it seems that in the next few days it will be extended to a greater number of users who will be able to try it. The feature will later be released to everyone.
“The introduction of QR codes makes sharing channels significantly more convenient than using traditional links. Instead of copying and pasting a link to share via text or email, users can simply display the QR code on the screen own device so that others can scan it.
This is especially useful in face-to-face settings, where other people can quickly scan the code without the need for additional steps. The scanned code will redirect users to the channel, where they can view its content and follow it with a single tap.”is what we read in a press release reported by Times of India.
