When the Crimea became Ukraine (and why)

This is the pill n.1 on the conflict RussiaUkraine. Ukraine became independent, for the first time in history, in 1917, when the People’s Republic of Ukraine was born. He lasted little, because in 1922 he became the Soviet socialist republic of Ukrainian, adhering to the USSR entering with a small territory in the heart of the current borders (and which did not even understand Kiev). The moment he entered it, Lenin widening the territories of jurisdiction, adding territories that belonged to the Soviet Socialist Republic of Russia. In particular, he added territories to the north (including Kiev) that Russia had purchased with sound money from Poland (with the Treaty of Andrusovo from 1667), and territories to the south-east and south (which Caterina II of Russia had regained the empire Ottoman). Then, in 1954, Russia also donated Crimea. To make it short, when, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, the USSR melted, Ukraine came out of it with a much wider territory than it had when it entered it in 1922. Why? Because he chose to take another path. We will see it on the next pill.
