The question is “how can it contribute to the success of Donald Trump the fact that he is supported by J.D. Vance who from many points of view could appear to be a political clone of the tycoon?”
An absolutely correct question since normally the vice-presidential candidate has the task of completing the offer as much as possible, if we want to call it that. From a strictly political point of view: what do I know?, a presidential nominee who is too far to the right or, depending on the party, too far to the left is paired with a centrist? The opposite? Respecting geopolitics? Taking into account, as is now fairly usual, gender? Etc.?
The answer to the initial question is that in fact JD Vance really brings something extra to the Republican ticket (also with a view to 2028 given his young age). In the autobiographical novel that made him famous, American Elegyin fact the Senator tells the story of that America of the white working class and of the industrial Midwest that feels abandoned by the elite of the country, that America that, in essence, no longer believes in the American dream. So he brings a credibility that could help Trump broaden his voter base right in the key states, the Battlegrounds, of the industrial context.
Ohio, which he represents in the Upper House, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin. Really quite a lot.
