Two American fighter planes collided in flight during a display at the Mountain Home Air Force Base in the state of Idaho, crashing to the ground. The pilots managed to escape to safety. The base was immediately placed on lockdown and the show was cancelled. In a video circulating on social media you can see the moment of impact.

The accident occurred about three kilometers northwest of the base during the second day of the Gunfighter Skies Air Show. “An investigation has been launched and further details will be released as they become available,” the base said on social media.
