ABCD, the alphabet of a new technological and sustainable South

“What is done in Bali, why can’t it be done in Bari?”. Nicolò Andreula asked the question when he returned home after years of working around the world: a brilliant economist under 40, he built a successful path after graduating from Bocconi University and INSEAD in Fontainebleau. And then through work experiences in prestigious international organizations such as the UN in New York, Finmeccanica in Russia, Goldman Sachs and McKinsey in London, AlphaBeta in Singapore, and indeed a trip to Indonesia. Returning to Bari, he decided to stop by founding Disal Consulting, a company that deals with strategic consultancy, communication and training for big companies such as TIM, Poste Italiane, Netflix, Amazon, multilateral institutions such as the World Economic Forum and national governments, including France, China and Germany. But above all he created ABCD, a kind of alphabet to teach the South that innovation is possible. Just want it.

Digital Capital in Bari (abaricapitaledigitale.com), which this year will have its third edition on 12 and 13 April, is something more than a simple exchange of ideas: “It is a meeting point, a connection between the best entrepreneurial and non-entrepreneurial forces, to demonstrate that not It’s true that things can’t be changed.” And so so far the event has united over a thousand participants, with small and large companies, startuppers, young professionals and institutions, with the common goal of transforming Southern Italy by putting digital and sustainability at the center of change, and emphasizing excellence committed to innovation. “And actually, what I want to say, that more than a festival ABCD is a real party: there is nothing pompous, it’s as if friends found themselves in the most beautiful and also most intimate places in the city to talk , have fun, why not eat, sing and dance. This is how great ideas are born.”

A real networking, in short, with the best soul of the South. With the declared objective of those who wish to work and invest in the South by dealing with topics such as the internationalization of companies, the transition towards sustainability, digital humanism and inclusion of women in the STEM sector. Fundamental elements for the transformation of the area of the country accused of always being a victim of itself. And moreover, the annual survey conducted by Confindustria and Srm, a study center connected to Intesa SanPaolo, confirms an estimated GDP growth of +0.6% for 2024, but also highlights the structural and jobs that require continuous commitment to stimulate sustainable and technological development. Indicating skills, connectivity and competitiveness of businesses as key development factors.

ABCD wants to be the driving force of this journey, and Nicolo Andreula announces some of the participants in the festival (or rather in the party): Carlo CarraroRector Emeritus and Full Professor of Environmental Economics at the Ca’ Foscari University of Venice; Virginia PondsHead of Business Development and Talent Director at the Financial Times; Elena Lavezzi, with a rich background at companies such as Uber, Circle and Revolut; other industry experts such as Massimo Temporelli And Giulio Xhaët. All there to prove that Bari can be better than Bali.
