Apple presents the new iPad Air M2 and Pro M4. Here's all the news

They were long awaited and finally they arrived: today, during “Let Loose“, the event organized by Apple in London, the new ones were presented iPad Air M2 And Pro M4. The news was in the air: some rumors about it had already leaked out among the experts in recent days, but today the confirmation has finally arrived.

During the event the company not only presented the new ones Tabletbut also some very interesting accessories, such as the Apple pencil pro and the Magic keyboard. In short, fans of the brand can say they are satisfied, especially with the knowledge that shortly, in about a month, another important tech event, WWDC, will be held, which could bring with it other news.

But let's see in detail what the products presented today were and their characteristics.

Apple”Let Loose“: here are the new iPads

Dealing with the news presented by Apple during the event May 7, it is impossible not to start from new iPad Pro. The best performing tablet from the Cupertino company, in fact, in the version just presented will mount a M4 chips, based on second-generation 3-nanometer technology. This statement may not mean anything important to many, but it is nevertheless fundamental news. The M4, in fact, is currently the most powerful chip made by Apple. This allows the device, among other things, to have a higher energy efficiency than 50% compared to the model equipped with the M2 model.

The design also deserves a mention: the new iPad Pro M4, in fact, is the thinnest device ever produced by Apple; the 13″ version is only 5.1 mm thick. It is available in two models: 13″ (starting from €1,569) and one 11″ (starting from €1,219).

But that's not all, in addition to these technical improvements, the product sheet reveals other very interesting new features, such as the Ultra Retina XDR display with tandem OLED technology, the 12 Mp wide-angle camera, the 12 Mp front camera with ultra wide angle, the audio system equipped with four speakers, Wi-Fi 6E, 5G and Face ID.

Let's then move on to the “little brother”: iPad Air M2. It was made in two versions, 11″ (starting from €719) and 13″ (starting from €969). Both were equipped with the M2 chip, which helped make them faster and, in general, improved their performance. The RAM memory is 8 GB, while the storage space starts from 128 GB up to 1 TB.

In this case, from a design point of view, not much seems to have changed: on the back there is the Smart connector, on the side there are the magnetic connector and the volume keys, while on the upper part there are the on-off button and the Touch ID. As regards the audiovideo sector, this is made up of a 12 Mp rear wide-angle lens and a 12 Mp front ultra wide-angle lens.

Apple”Let Loose“: space also for accessories

During today's event, Apple also dedicated some space to interesting new accessories such as the Apple pencil pronow in its third generation, and the Magic keyboard. Let's start from the first: thanks to the new haptic engine, the intelligent pen manages to offer a decidedly better user experience compared to the previous version. In particular, during the presentation it was stated that it should be much more precise thanks to the built-in gyroscope. Furthermore, Apple engineers had the great idea of inserting into the device a function already present, among others, in iPhones, namely “Find My“, which allows you to find the object if it is lost.

The new pen is not suitable for all Apple devices, it can in fact only be combined with the new 11 and 13-inch iPad Pro with M4 chip and the new 11 and 13-inch iPad Air with M2 chip. Already available to order from today, it will be shipped starting May 15th. The cost will be 149.99 eurosthe same as that of the previous generation already on the market.

Now let's move on to the new one Magic keyboard, thinner and more innovative than ever. The goal of this keyboard is to make the new iPad Pro M4 even more like a real Apple computer. This is why the company chose to make it with a slightly revisited design and a wrist support in aluminium. Furthermore, as in the pen, haptic feedback has also been integrated here, on the trackpadwhich, moreover, has been further enlarged.

This new Magic keyboard costs 349 euros in the version for the 11-inch iPad Pro M4 and 399 euros for that of the 13-inch iPad Pro M4. They are available in two colors, white and black, and can already be ordered.

Deliveries will start from Wednesday 15 May.
