Attentive to the territory and young talents, this is the group's success formula

Attention to the territory, young people and an inclusive work environment. The passion for engines combines with that for human capital and for local realities. With its products for mobility and automotive, the Dellorto company runs not only on the road but also on the front of corporate social responsibility, undertaken first and foremost towards the community and the environment in which it operates. This commitment translates into the social and environmental sphere, through precise actions and choices, such as allocating part of one’s resources to the benefit of the community.

«Dellorto is conducted in a socially responsible, impartial and ethical manner, adopting fairness and correctness practices in the management of the employment relationship», the company explains. Furthermore, among the commitments adopted there is also that of promoting and encouraging ecological awareness. This approach, combined with the fact that Dellorto has been a solid and active reality in the area for over 90 years, also represents an element of attraction for young people. To date, in fact, Dellorto has 21% of employees under 30 and the average age in the company is 44 years and 2 months.

This result was made possible with a long process which, after twelve years, allowed the company to “rejuvenate” itself by 16 months. In the Cabiate (Como) plant alone, Dellorto employs 336 employees and in the company 33% of the staff, or one in three employees, are female workers.

The percentage is high for a sector that has historically attracted male workers, but the company’s objective is to further increase the figure, which already exceeds the national average. In our country, in fact, in this sector only one worker in five (therefore 20% of the total) is female.

The European average indicates that women in the metalworking industry are 21.3%, compared to 29.6% of those employed in manufacturing.

Finally, Dellorto, in addition to the aforementioned employees of the Cabiate plant, employs more than 500 workers abroad, distributed across production sites between India and China, where production is mainly for the local market. «We have exported Made in Italy in the productive, qualitative and sustainable model. Also regarding the quality of the work as well as the product.”
