The “translate” feature was highly anticipated on Google Chat. Thanks to this innovation, it will be possible translate automatically chat messages in the desired language. Machine translation will be available to Workspace users with specific subscriptions. Users will benefit from automatic translation into the chosen language, but will also have the option to read the original message using the icon Google Translatewhich will appear next to the translated text.
But how it is activated automatic translation? First you obviously need to access the Google Chat settings. Once the application is open, you need to choose the option Automatic translation. At this point “Translate messages into your preferred language” must be selected and choose your preferred language. This functionality is available on all major platforms. The translation is visible only to the user, and can only be seen during the chat conversation, not in notifications or in Home. If you decide to make changes to the translation mode, it may take 24 hours for the update to take effect.
