It will have happened to you too: talk to people, and we talk about the (disastrous) state of health of the planet. And the equally disastrous world leaders, who are pushing him towards the abyss. In fact, our world is governed by personality which, to be good, we can define very controversial. Starting with the three most important: Trump, Putin, Xi Xinping. Three dictators (Trump still halfway) to which it affects not only to remain in power for the rest of life, but also live as long as possible. In fact, at the recent Chinese summit XI and Putin said that their dream is to reach 150 years, obviously at the head of their empire. Ideal, values, well -being of the people? Not received, except in the usual, rhetorical, official speeches.
It is a fact: the world is commanded by Farabutti. And narcissists: they are interested in power, and be worshiped. Trump is the most sensational case: he complains of the violence of the left, but a few days ago, on the stage of the American Cornerstone Institute, speaking of the malignant cancer to the prostate of Joe Biden said: “Biden has always been a stupid guy. A son of a whore. He is not going too well for him at this moment. So when he starts to feel sorry for him, he remembers that he is a bad man”.
Understood? In front of an atrocious disease, Trump finds nothing but the way to transform it into an insult. Anyone who is against him is a criminal: he remembered it several times. And he, on the other hand, claims that the leaders of the world go to “kiss his ass” (his textual words) to have some favor in return.
Trump: between narcissism and extreme populism
Several psychiatrists and psychologists (even with the ethical limit of not being able to formulate diagnosis without a direct evaluation) have hypothesized in Trump traits of malignant narcissistic personalities: it has a constant and extreme need for admiration, a total inability to accept defeat, and a violent verbal aggression towards anyone who contradicts it. Beyond clinical labels, the point is clear: behaviors of this type, in a political context, become risky because they undermine the capacity for cooperation, rational management of conflicts and respect for the institutions. On the other hand, Trump’s America no longer have friends in the world: they only have those who fear it and make them enormous compliments, but underneath it, like us Europeans and the other former allies; Or who, like Putin and Xi, teases him with great panegirici and then cheat him.
Other cases in the global panorama
Trump is also known because he changes his mind several times a day: he is unstable and unreliable. But it’s not an exception. Other historical and contemporary leaders have shown attitudes that arouse concern. Starting with Mussolini (Trump stole the phrase according to which he is always right) and Hitler, in the grip of their delusions of omnipotence. In addition to Donald, today the closest example to him is Kim Jong-un, the North Korea dictator: a chubby omit that judges a kind of God at home.
Unstable leaders like the people
Individuals with marked pathological traits can be fascinating and catalyze popular consensus thanks to their energy, ostentatious safety and rhetorical ability. They never have doubts: they always have the answer ready for anything, and this attracts the weakest people, who seek in them a sort of father, or a God. Not surprisingly, Trump and Putin use the Christian religion (Evangelical Trump and Orthodox Putin) to have even more political force, XI uses the well -being of his people, and each leader has something useful for the masses. Which, as leaders well know, are ready to drink everything. Especially when paradise is at stake.
But what may appear charismatic, and also fun, in times of peace can be transformed into instability and danger when the stakes are world peace or the management of global emergencies. If Trump was the madman of his country he would not give any problems to anyone, but being the most powerful man in the world makes many of us sweat. In a few months he has already transformed the world, and when he leaves his assignment – in three years or seven, if he changes the American Constitution and will be re -elected – everything has changed radically. And the problems? Those will obviously be the fault of others.
The future? For them it does not exist
Having now a certain age I look at my life and I realize how it changed. As a boy I spoke above all of loves; As a young man I talked about work, and money; And now with my peers I speak of health, volunteering and what to leave to the world when we are no longer there. If it applies to me that I am nobody, let alone how much it must be worth for those who command us. But here too I realize that for them the future is all in today: they do so much of that evil that if they were to think about when they close their eyes they would perhaps try a little fear (assuming that, emphasis separately, they believe in the afterlife). They are all older than me, Perbacco: Trump goes around 80 years, Putin has 73, XI Xinping 72, and the other great world leaders are mainly male over 70.
Perhaps the unstable leader, Farabutto and narcissist is not only Trump; Maybe everyone is a bit. Like 1509 Erasmus from Rotterdam remembered in his praise of madness, “nowadays madness shows more in all its greatness than among the tyrants.”
