"Citizens ready to fight." London prepares war against Russia

For Sanders, the Great Britain must “take steps to allow our societies to be on a war footing” and this step “is not only desirable, but essential”: the foundations “of a national mobilization” cannot be limited to countries bordering or close to Russia for this “we will not be immune and the pre-war generation must also prepare and it is about an effort that involves the whole country“. Perhaps to give strength to his speech, the soldier cited the example of Ukraine: “Regular armies start wars and military forces made up of citizens defeat them“. We remember that just a week ago the British Defense Minister, Grant Shapps, said: “We must realize that we are moving from a post-war world to a pre-war one”. As the icing on the cake, the announcement of the sending of 20,000 British soldiers for the largest NATO exercises since the end of the Cold War.

And that of Great Britain is not the first warning about the possibility total war against Russia. For days now, the future of world balance has appeared increasingly shaky, so much so that the president of the NATO military committee, Rob Bauer, to state that “civilians must prepare for all-out war with Moscow in the next 20 years.” For Bauer “we must realize that living in peace is not a given” and for this reason “we are preparing for a conflict with Russia”.

A great sign of concern, especially because it was expressed by one of the leaders of theAtlantic Alliance. Strong words arrived a few days after the document published by Bild in which an attack by Moscow on NATO was prophesied. The Kremlin has denied the top secret plan, branded as “fake news”, but fears of escalation are palpable.

The situation on the battlefield smiles on Moscow. Tuesday’s attack in Ukraine caused 18 deaths and 130 injuries, but attention in recent hours has shifted to the crash of the Russian Ilyushin II-76 plane in the Belgorod region. The exchange of accusations between the two countries was immediate: according to the Kremlin, the aircraft was carrying 65 prisoners of war and 6 crew members. Kiev confirmed the crash, but denied the Russian version: “The plane was carrying missile systems.” Volodymyr Zelensky called for an international investigation: “It is obvious that the Russians play with the lives of Ukrainian prisoners, with the feelings of their relatives and with the emotions of our society.” Struggling with various critical issues and increasingly alone, the Ukrainian president has instructed his Foreign Minister to inform intended partners about the available data.

The reaction of the Kremlin was vehement, pointing the finger at Kiev for having voluntarily shot down the plane in order to “blame Russia”. According to the Russians, the people on board the aircraft were part of the blockade 192 prisoners chosen for the “equal” exchange. According to what was announced by the Duma, the Ilyushin was followed by another plane with about 80 other Ukrainian prisoners on board, which after the first plane was shot down, reversed course and returned. The exchange of accusations will continue in the next few days, with the only result of hindering the already complicated negotiations. The Moscow Foreign Ministry did not hesitate to define the Kiev government as an “unworthy partner” for possible negotiations, with the head of diplomacy Sergei Lavrov who immediately called for an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council.
