Cycling, Dagnoni reconfirmed president of the Federation
Cordiano Dagnoni was confirmed as president of the Italian Cycling Federation with 59.74% of the votes at the ordinary elective assembly which was held today in Rome. He passed in the runoff Silvio Martinello (39.33%). The third candidate, Daniela Isetti, she had exited in the first round, coming third (43) in order of votes, behind Dagnoni (110) and Martinello (77). “They have been four very challenging years which have given a lot of satisfaction and a lot of joy – commented the newly elected president – I am grateful for the trust that has been renewed in me also because I believe continuity is the best way to reap the benefits in the coming years” . Vice presidents also join the federal council Stefano Bandolin (vicar), Carmine Acquasanta And Saverio Put. The following were elected to represent the affiliates: Giovanni Vietri, Ignazio Saia, Iolanda Ragosta, Sandro Checchin. Representing the elected athletes: Fabrizio Cornegliani And Maria Giulia Confalonieri. Laura Puccetti was elected to represent the technicians. President of the Board of Auditors re-elected Simone Mannelli. “’My hope now is that this long electoral campaign, which began the day after my first election, will end and that we can all work together for the many challenges that await us – continued Dagnoni -. If this morning, during the candidates’ speeches, I was excited, now I am even more so. In the previous mandate we recorded some missed passes and there were some mistakes but staying in the comfort zone and doing nothing would have been too simple and the Federation didn’t need this. I have always been available and open to anyone who wants to contribute to the good of cycling. With my opponents in this electoral campaign, Daniela and Silvio, there has always been a relationship of mutual respect and esteem. If they want to offer their contribution in the future, they will be welcomed with open arms.”
