"Extra user with advertising" arrives, the Netflix option also in Italy: who can take advantage of it and how much it costs

For some time now Netflix It has become the most common and loved live streaming and on demand platform in the world, albeit with increasingly fierce competition, and one of its cornerstones is undoubtedly the app that allows users to exploit the entire catalog directly from Smart TVs, on numerous of which is often pre -installed. Which, however, it will no longer be possible to do starting from today, Saturday 5 July, for thousands of televisions, since the new developments and updates of the system require more advanced and performing hand -handed models capable of supporting the weight of these novelties.

As officially and advanced by the managers of the US giant, theapplication It will now be unusable for numerous electronic appliances, so users who are used to using the platform daily and want to continue doing it from a TV must verify whether the model in their possession falls within the list provided by Netflix. Very important and widespread brands are affected in the list, between Sony, Samsung, Panasonic and LG, just to name a few, so it is not unlikely to find your TV inside, especially if dated.

“Netflix may no longer be available on some TVs and some streaming devices on TV produced before 2015reads a note on the company’s official portal. Below is the list of products that will be incompatible with the app:

  • Sony: KDL series, XBR, W95 and X95 released before 2015;
  • Samsung: Tlevissers of Serie D, E and F, Products between 2010 and 2013;
  • LG: models produced between 2010 and 2013 and in general all those who have not received the update to Webos 3.0;
  • Panasonic: the ST series, VT and GT on the market from 2011 to 2013;
  • Philips: models of the 4000 series and 5000 products before 2014;
  • Hisense: televisions marketed between 2012 and 2014 and still equipped with original firmware;
  • Amazon Fire TV: first generation, Fire TV Stick 2014 and Fire TV Stick with Alexa 2016;
  • Sharp: models of the LC series and made them between 2010 and 2013.

If you have in possession of one of these models, would the only remedy be to buy a new and expensive Smart TV? In theory yes, but if the expense were at the prohibitive moment you could opt for cheaper solutions simply by purchasing an external reader, such as the Amazon Fire TV Stick or Google Chromecast.

Another option is to connect compatible gaming consoles to the TV, such as PS4 or PS5 of Sony or Xbox Series X or Series S of Microsoft, or to connect a portable PC or a desktop to the TV with HDMI cable to see the favorite series at full screen.
