From Hamas to Fatah, China Brings Together Palestinian Groups

In Beijing, a point in favor of Israel. The agreement favored by China between the 14 Palestinian factions, From Hamas to Fatahfor the unification of the groups in view of free elections (so it is promised), and the common foundation of a Palestinian state is a success of Israel’s war on Hamas.

Even the West will stop talk nonsense about “two peoples, two states”. There are no “peoples” in the abstract, there are populations and these can be divided to the point of competing for power with violence and assassination. Israel today understandably denounces Fatah’s recognition of Hamas as a legitimate interlocutor. But a new chapter has opened.

We’ll see how it develops: The first and decisive clue will be the text of the Constitution on which the unified factions will agree. Will the legitimacy of the State of Israel be recognized? Or will China consider it a fragment of Western imperialism like Taiwan as Mao Tse-tung thought?
