Once the calendar has turned, the technology immediately gets back into motion. The first appointment is the CES in Las Vegas immediately after the Befana, the fair that talks about hi-tech trends, including automotive. There are many new things expected for 2025, almost everything is known about some, others can be imagined for now through the rumors that have appeared on the Internet. In short: not everything you will see (in our gallery) will perhaps be exactly like this. However, asterisks aside, here is an overview of what you might like to have in your pocket, or at home, in the next 12 months.
OnePlus makes 13
The brand founded by Carl Pei and now owned by OPPO, deserves mention as the first of the year. In fact, on January 7th it will also present the 13 and 13R models here in Italy. Smartphones characterized by screens with flat edges, shock-resistant vegan leather back, Amoled display and 6000 mAh super battery. In short, devices that aim high.
Samsung rollable
Yes, okay, the Galaxy S26 will arrive and then – in the summer – the foldable Z7 Fold and Flip. But the real surprise could be a phone with a rollable display that expands the screen up to 12.4 inches. They had already tried with TCL, Oppo and LG prototypes. But this time, it seems, things are serious in Korea.
Huawei triple screen
Speaking of innovation, who knows if we’ll get to see the Mate XT first hand, the smartphone with a double hinge opening system that allows the device to take on three distinct configurations. When fully closed it has a 6.4-inch Oled display, opening the first hinge reaches 7.9 inches, fully opening it reveals a 10.2-inch display with 3K resolution. In any case it will cost at least 3000 euros, so we can console ourselves (so to speak) with the Mate X6, the first Fold that the Chinese company will arrive in Europe (in January). Red and beautiful.
Thin iPhone
Apple’s first novelty will be the iPhone SE4, which is the least expensive revisited model. But the surprise could be, in autumn, the transformation of the Plus model into a kind of slim. That is: the iPhone 17 Air (as it is thought it will be called) will stand out for an incredibly slim profile with a thickness of just 6.25 millimeters, thanks to the less space allowed by a homemade 5G modem.
Xiaomi is immediately Redmi
Xiaomi’s second line arrives at the Note 14 series in three models (and will be presented on January 14th). The various versions range from a flat 6.67-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED screen to a 6.67-inch curved OLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. With great contrast and brightness, bright colors and resistance allowed by the Corning glass Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Excellent prices, we’ll see everything in a few days anyway.
Motorola on your wrist
The excellent results of 2024 allow Motorola to dare. In Barcelona, at the Mobile World Congress, you will have a first taste of the new version of the razr, but the well-informed (there are always in these cases) are also talking about the arrival (finally) of the first smartwatch in the next few months. For now, of all this, there are only predictions that have become the image you see in the gallery. Whatever happens, it will be a success (we bet?).
LG green thumb
In Las Vegas the Korean company, in the usual mega stand, will present curious products. Like two new innovative indoor gardening solutions with a system that promotes rapid plant growth. The design is modern and elegant, making it ideal for beginners and green lovers.
Haier supercool(ing)
Energy efficiency and innovation: Haier achieves A-20% classification and works with artificial intelligence. For example: the new refrigerators, thanks to the hOn app, send a warning when a food item is expiring, suggesting recipes to use what is available. Furthermore, the Supercooling drawer of the Cube 90 Series 7 models, with a constant sub-zero temperature, combats the formation of microorganisms to preserve delicate foods such as fish or meat for a long time without the need to freeze them.
Slim vacuum cleaners
2024 was the year of vacuum cleaners, with increasingly futuristic robots that adopted arms that come out to clean corners, supports for climbing steps, control cameras, mops that are washed and sterilized from the charging base. The same applies to brands such as iRobot, Roborock, Eureka, Dreame, Xiaomi and many others (in our photo a Rowenta model). For 2025 the focus is on the silouhette: with just 6 centimeters of thickness, it will be able to pass under sofas, beds and chests of drawers. Cleanliness is guaranteed.
Google more and more Pixels
The Big G smartphone has great fans, also because it is a great training ground for the Android system.
While waiting for the 10th (who knows if it will be celebrated with a surprise) the 9a arrives, the lightest version of the flagship and which should have a compact design, with the cameras arranged differently. Perhaps hoping that one day the foldable Pixel will appear here too.
