Smartphones increasingly targeted by messages from spamwhich have now become a real nuisance; here too WhatsApp tries to remedy the situation by proposing a new function of the program that should be able to counteract many annoying messages sent to our phone from unknown numbers.
Objective: Security and privacy
WhatsApp’s goal has always been to ensure the safety of its users, who must feel safe when using the platform. Over the years, several improvements have been developed to protect the personal data and privacy of those who exchange messages via the application. Sometimes, however, it is not enough, because harassers always find a way to insinuate themselves between the protective meshes of the platform.
Recently, the developer team launched a new option that allows you to disable link previews in chats, but the work is not finished yet. Among the upcoming features, there is one dedicated to spam counter. The hope is that, after the tests, it will be made available as soon as possible. Apparently the anti-spam function appears in the latest beta version for Android, the one with the code 2.24.17.24. In essence, it should be able to automatically block all those messages sent from unknown numbers. The user can activate anti-spam by accessing WhatsApp privacy settings. This will not only stop annoying and potentially dangerous messages (think of the many scams that circulate on the platform), but also the bots themselves.
The new feature will essentially allow you to stop messages sent from unknown accounts in advance.
WhatsApp more convenient
By ensuring the privacy and security of its users, the WhatsApp team intends to make the experience on the platform easier and more peaceful. Not only that.
With his functions improved, WhatsApp will see its workload reduced, because the storage space will be less burdened.
At the moment the new anti spam It’s still in beta, and we’ll have to wait a while longer before it’s available.
