The story
The announcement was made on Friday in Lourdes in one press conference of the medical commission in which the direct interested party also participated. Mrs. Raco did not hold back the emotion by retracing the stages of her incredible history. The woman suffered from 10 years of primary lateral sclerosis and in summer 2009 she went on pilgrimage to the Marian sanctuary. It was accompanied by the Italian organization Unitals And he could only move in a wheelchair. On August 1, 2009 Antonia immersed in the water of one of the tanks of the sanctuary. Several years later, the woman recalled that episode thus: “In the water I heard a voice that said he was courage and like someone who me raisedand I understood that something was happening. ” Back in Basilicata, on August 5 the lady managed to take steps and show herself to her husband who remained shocked. The couple turned to the SLa center of the Molinette hospital in Turin who had cared for the patient until then. The attending physician, the neurologist Adriano Chiò called him “A phenomenon scientifically inexplicablethat I myself will take time to elaborate “.
Recognition
The conditions of the woman improved progressively and the case was also collected by the parish priest and the local bishop of the time, Monsignor Francescantonio Nolè. Thus started the process for the evaluation of any miracle. The Lourdes medical commission formed by 35 experts strictly studied the clinical affair and concluded by ascertaining the “medically unexplained character in the current state of scientific knowledge”. The subsequent steps were the communication by the bishop of Tarbes and Lourdes, Monsignor Jean-Marc Micas To the Bishop of Tursi-Lagonegro, Monsignor Vincenzo Carmine Orofino. The bishop of the diocese of the woman has in turn established a medical-theological commission and appointed a bishop’s delegate, for ecclesial discernment. The opinion was positive and last April we arrived at the proclamation Official: Antonia is Lourdes’ 72nd miraculous.
