Al Ces 2025 in Las Vegas the best of technology is on stage, and there is no shortage of truly singular and incredible pieces; for example, a particular product capable of destroying our devices – in this case an iPad Pro – in case of death. It is a case and the name given to it is quite evocative: In case of deathi.e. “In case of death”.

A bundle full of black humor, certainly very ironic, which however winks at the most paranoid, who fear leaving their secrets unattended in case of sudden death. In essence, this series of products put together allows the destruction ofiPad in the event of the user’s death.

This kit was presented by Zugua company that produces cases and various accessories for tablets. At CES in Las Vegas the company showed a proposal for an 11-inch iPad Pro model. The series of objects capable of making the device “death-proof” consists of one smart casea smart ring and, of course, adedicated app. All this should serve to destroy the contents of the tablet the moment the owner loses his life.

But how does it work? The procedure is very simple. The user inserts their tablet into the case, wears the smart ring that regulates their cardiac activity and connects everything with the dedicated app. When the ring, which measures heart rate, blood oxygenation and body temperature, detects the user’s death, it sends a signal to the app to activate the Death Protections preset. In theory, thanks to artificial intelligence, the smart ring should even be able to understand if it is temporarily removed by the user, so there should be no “false positives”.

The Death ProtectionsHowever, they are varied and you can choose.

We have Destroy My Browserwhich deletes the browser and all history, Nuke My iPadwhich removes all data from the tablet, Rickroll My Loved Oneswhich consists of a series of Rick Astley’s Never Gonna Give You Up to send to loved ones, and Tweet My Followerswhich involves sending a farewell message to followers.

In short, a singular product to say the least, which oscillates between the ironic and the macabre, but which has certainly achieved its aim: to attract curiosity of the many technology enthusiasts.
