When science enters the theater. Yes, exactly like that. It happens at the Pacta Salone, where science will be the protagonist for an entire month. In fact, the plays of the «Festival ScienzaInScena» (until 21 February) will be paraded on the stage of the hall in via Ulisse Dini and beyond. Fifteen titles are scheduled, created, or in any case supported, also with the collaboration of the Polytechnic of Milan, Inaf – the National Institute of Astrophysics, Cnr – National Research Council, Department of History University of California, Berkeley, Civico Planetario di Milano. Let’s look at some titles to understand better.
The Festival restarts from the success of the last edition, «Echoes of Light and the Universe knocked on the doors of the Air» (10/11 January): the show was commissioned by the National Institute of Astrophysics to recount an important achievement in observation of the Universe. And again. «The double life of Èmilie», from 15 to 19 January, where the century of the Enlightenment and the figure of Émilie du Châtelet emerge as emblems of the scientific revolution and female intellectual emancipation, alongside the key figure of the Enlightenment, Voltaire.
The echo of scientific progress also resonates in «Micromega», the 22nd and 23rd of this month, taken from the previous season, where Voltaire invites the spectator to reflect on the relativity of cultures and the insignificance of human disputes in the face of the immensity of ‘universe.
On 25, 26 and 30 January there will be a grand finale with «Variation #2: praise of kindness», a piece that leads us to reflect on the importance of the word, kindness and humanity (info on the program: www.pacta.org).
