In France the first party – the National Rally – does not get a vice-president or a quaestor at the National Assembly: the logic of the red rabble wins once again. And there is more: in Paris the left does not even know the value of education, as witnessed by all those comrade-deputies who even denied the handshake to the deputy of the aforementioned Rn of Marine Le Pen during the election of the new president. An endless shame.
Let’s start from the division of the armchairsyet another example of the anti-Le Pen axis-pile. Among the six vice-presidents of the National Assembly there is not even one representative of the most voted party in the country: after two chaotic rounds of voting, Naima Moutchou (Horizons, center-right), Clèmence Guettè (LFI-NFP), Nadège Abomangoli (LFI-NFP), Xavier Lesbreton (Republican Right), Annie Genevard (Republican Right) and Roland Lescure (Ensemble) were elected. With all the differences of the case but it is a bit as if in Italy not even a seat had been reserved for the Brothers of Italy.
It is impossible not to share the idea of Le Pen, who, interviewed by Le Parisien, defined the National Assembly as “a lawless zone“. The distribution of key positions within the Chamber was made without taking into account the people’s opinion. The participation in the vote for the presidency of the Finance Committee of the deputies of the presidential camp, who in 2007 had abstained to allow the election of a member of the opposition, is emblematic. It must not be a good moment for the French, who between European and legislative elections have rewarded the right but still find themselves with von der Leyen at the head of the EU Commission and the red crowd at “home”. But it is even more incredible that the main party, which represents about a third of the electorate, almost 11 million votes cast, is not represented in the bodies responsible for keeping Parliament alive.
But the sad and disheartening transalpine news does not end here. In the last few hours a video shot at the National Assembly during the election of the “new president” has gone viral. Yes, because many left-wing deputies they denied the handshake to Flavien Termetthe youngest deputy of the Lower House and of the Rassemblement National, who supervised the correct voting procedure. “We do not shake hands with the extreme right. Never”, was the pathetic claim of Louis Boyard. And again: “I do not shake hands with RN deputies outside the Assembly, I do not see why I should do it inside”, relaunched Antoine Léaument. But there are those who have outdone themselves, like François Piquemal: the deputy of La France insoumise instead of shaking hands with his young colleague mimed a rock-paper-scissors. Here French democracy, an endless shame.
