Family handover within MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company. As announced by the group through an official note, during the last quarter of 2025, the ownership was transferred from Gianluigi Aponte to his children Diego and Alexa Aponte, Italian citizens who grew up in Switzerland, where they still reside.

“Diego Aponte, resident of the group, and Alexa Aponte, Chief Financial Officer – reads the MSC note – have demonstrated leadership and vision, achieving notable results in their respective roles within the company. The transition will guarantee the continuity, stability and growth of the MSC Group with the new generation at the helm”. MSC will continue to focus on its core business, the maritime transport of goods, with Commander Gianluigi Aponte maintaining the role of Executive Chairman of the group.
