Spotifythe famous Swedish streaming platform, will allow some users to watch i music video directly from its app (available on iOS and Android) on smartphones, tablets, desktop devices and TVs. Through a statement shared on its website, the company explained that, for the moment, this is only a novelty beta versioni.e. trial, and that only users will be able to access it “Premium”, i.e. those who pay a subscription.
Music videos on Spotify: in which countries they will be available
Currently, the artists whose music videos will become available on Spotify are a rather narrow circle. Among those mentioned in the press release are Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat And Ice Spiceinternationally known, and locally listened to artists, such as Aluna And Asake.
In this first phase, the countries affected by this innovation are the United Kingdom, Germany,Italythe Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, the Philippines, Indonesia and Kenya, but others could be added in the future.
How to watch music videos on Spotify
To watch the video clips you will need to open the Spotify application from any suitable device and choose one of the songs by the mentioned artists whose music video was also filmed. At this point it will be sufficient to press on “Switch to video“, or “Skip to video” and the latter will begin.
On the contrary, if you want to go back to simply listening, just press on “Switch to audio“, or “Switch to audio”. Videos can also be played full screen simply by rotating the device horizontally, as already happens on YouTube.
