Oppo Find X9 and Find X9 Pro, the review

The marriage between OPPO And Hasselblad has meant that the Chinese company’s products have increasingly entered the head of high-level images. With today’s presentation in Barcelona, the new Find X9 Pro and Find The other news, then, is that both devices are supported by ColorOS 16, a latest evolution of the OPPO operating system based on Android 16, with new standards of fluidity, artificial intelligence and connectivity between devices. Which places this new series among the best possible ones for those looking for a high-quality smartphone.

Design and construction

The Find X9 Pro stands out for its modern design with a limited thickness of 8.25 mm and a construction that favors comfort and functionality. The rear camera module is positioned at the top left, aligned with the frame, which improves ergonomics: the index finger does not obstruct the lenses when holding the phone, essential for gaming and media use. The body is resistant with various certifications that guarantee protection from dust, prolonged immersion and high pressure and temperature water jets. The difference with the Find X9 version is that this is slightly thinner at 7.99 mm and more compact in size, although it maintains the same level of robustness and aesthetic care. Also offering colors such as Titanium Grey, Space Black and Velvet Red, i.e. the usual definitions of shades that enhance the eye and desire.

Latest generation display

Both models feature a flat AMOLED display with ultra-thin bezels of just 1.15 mm. The Find X9 Pro integrates a 6.78-inch screen with a resolution of 2772×1272 pixels and a peak brightness of up to 3600 nits, while the Find Both support variable refresh rates from 1 to 120 Hz for a perfect balance between fluidity and energy saving. The technology includes an advanced ultrasonic 3D fingerprint scanner that is faster and more reliable, and the innovative flicker reduction system at 2160Hz-3840Hz and minimum brightness of 1 nit, ideal for eye protection in low-light environments.

Photographic features

When it comes to photography, as mentioned, the Find X9 Pro stands as the new absolute reference thanks to the collaboration with Hasselblad. Furthermore, it is enough to list the hardware equipment:

  • A 200 megapixel Hasselblad telephoto camera, featuring an ultra-detailed sensor, calibration, f/2.1 aperture and optical stabilization (OIS). This module allows a 3x optical zoom, a lossless zoom of up to 13.2x and a resolution of up to 16K in Hi-Res mode.
  • A 50 mpx Ultra XDR main camera with Sony LYT-828 sensor and f/1.5 aperture, capable of capturing 30% more light than previous generations with 17 stops of dynamic range thanks to real-time Triple Exposure technology.
  • 50 mpx ultra-wide lens and 2 million pixel multispectral True Color Camera for precise and natural color rendering even in difficult light conditions.

The Find Both support advanced modes such as Master Mode for manual control, XPAN Mode for 8K cinematic panoramas, and portrait mode with cinematic blur.

LUMO Imaging Engine technology, developed by OPPO, significantly improves quality, noise reduction. The result is sharper images and videos with recording up to 4K at 120fps in Dolby Vision HDR. Stuff for professionals, in fact.

Performance and battery

The new OPPO smartphones adopt the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, produced at 3nm, which offers a notable increase in power and energy efficiency. The processor features a 4.21 GHz Ultra core, supported by an ARM G1-Ultra GPU for cutting-edge graphics performance, and a 9th generation NPU to accelerate artificial intelligence. In short, even if you are not an engineer, you can understand that the above is a very high level of technology, which also allows you to have long-lasting Silicon-Carbon batteries that maintain 80% of their original capacity after 5 years of use.

The Find X9 Pro has a 7500 mAh battery, while the Find Fast charging is guaranteed by 80W SUPERVOOC via cable and up to 55W with USB PD charger, supported by AIRVOOC wireless charging at 50W and reverse charging at 10W (in short, you can charge another device by giving up that of your phone). Special attention is paid to the cooling system with an improved vapor chamber and advanced thermal materials that disperse efficiently, even during intensive gaming sessions or video shooting.

The new ColorOS 16

The software heart of the new OPPO Find X and X9 Pro is ColorOS 16, an operating system based on Android 16, which represents a generational leap in terms of fluidity and intelligence. One of the system’s strong points is the new Luminous Rendering Engine, which allows simultaneous and parallel rendering of all visual elements, ensuring fluid and responsive animations, even when using multiple apps in multitasking. Seamless Animation also extends this principle to every interaction, creating natural, intimate transitions with the user’s touch.

ColorOS 16 also introduces Flux Home Screen, which lets you resize folders on the home screen into various shapes for more personalized and visually harmonious management. Icons can be enlarged and enriched with shortcuts to quickly access features such as video, portrait or Hasselblad XPAN modes.

The AI aspect is enhanced by the system integrated with Google Gemini and OPPO AI Hub, which centralizes all AI features such as Mind Space, an intelligent aggregator that captures and organizes contents from the screen and apps, transforming them into personal knowledge accessible with simple gestures or programmable physical keys (Snap Key present on Find X9). Gemini uses this data to provide contextual responses and personalized suggestions.

The AI component also includes:

  • AI Writer, intelligent writing assistant, with support for notes, social media and third-party apps.
  • AI Recorder, professional voice recorder with real-time transcription, speaker recognition and automated summaries.
  • AI Portrait Glow, automatic enhancement for difficult portraits with skin tone optimization.

Furthermore, with O Connect you can connect OPPO devices to Windows PCs or Macs quickly and easily. This connection allows you to view, manage files or control multiple phone apps directly from your computer – ideal for productivity and flexibility of use. Among the new features there is also “Touch to Share” file sharing both between OPPO devices and towards iPhone, with fluid and immediate animations.
