"Quo vadis Terra?". Il Giornale event in Genoa

«Quo vadis Earth?». In the era of the green transition, the fate of our planet appears uncertain. Economic needs, expectations of well-being and ethical dilemmas are intertwined in the challenge of energy sustainability, a real challenge for a capitalism in full metamorphosis: but is the direction taken so far really the right one? The theme will be at the center of the event with which the newspaper continues the celebrations for its first fifty years (here is the link for free registration). After the stages of Milan and Turin, the newspaper founded by Indro Montanelli will arrive in Genoa Wednesday 15 May for a special morning of discussions and debates in the non-conformist style that distinguishes him.

From 9am to 1pm at Palazzo Ducale, in the heart of the city of the Lantern, some protagonists of current affairs, economics and business will dialogue with the most popular names of the newspaper, according to a now tested and appreciated format. Two panels are scheduled, followed by an interesting final face-to-face: the one between the Director of the newspaper, Alessandro SallustiAnd Gilberto Pichetto FratinMinister of the Environment and Energy Security.

Identify a recipe that holds it together compatible developmentthat is, the salvation of the environment, with the salvation of the human race and that is with the maintenance of levels of well being and growth, is a fundamental theme“, explained Sallusti when introducing the Genoa event, which is part of a traveling series of conferences organized to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the newspaper. This – explained the Director – “it is a good opportunity to remember what we have been but also to understand what we could be in the next fifty years“.

The event, which has Banco Bpm, Eni, Gruppo FS and Tim as partners, will be inaugurated by the mayor of Genoa, Marco Bucci, accompanied by the Director Alessandro Sallusti. Then, room for debates. “The price of sustainability” will be the topic at the center of a discussion between Mario Tartaglia (Head of FS Research Center FS Group), Luigi Merlo (President of Federlogistica-Conftrasporto) and Elena Flor (Head of Esg Steering of Intesa Sanpaolo). Hoara Borselli will moderate the conversation .

The journalist will then hand over the stage to the Deputy Director of il Giornale, Nicola Porro, which will enliven a debate on the new technological frontiers of the energy transition, including opportunities, innovations and green utopias. «Technology will be enough?”. On stage, to discuss it, Raffaella Luglini (Sustainability Director of Leonardo), Maria Enrica Danese (Communications & Sustainability Director Tim) and Matteo Cidda (Communications and Social Responsibility Manager of Banco Bpm).

Finally, to close the morning of work, the one already announced interview to the minister Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, conducted by Alessandro Sallusti. After a morning full of ideas, ideas and authoritative voices, the exclusive conversation with the government representative will be an opportunity to take stock of the energy transition in Italy and Europe, also in light of the challenge launched by the executive itself to arrive, within the legislature, at a legal framework of rules for the return to nuclear.

The event – we remind you – is free to access while places last, subject to registration, and can also be followed in live streaming on our website.
