I would like to inform and ask them, if he believes, support about a battle that we Italians are fighting in Brazil also on behalf of our children and grandchildren. As a former Italian deputy elected in the district of Latin America I keep myself informed about the legislative initiatives of our nation. With profound concern I learned and made known to our compatriots residing outside the national borders who, according to the recent scheme of decree-law on the “urgent provisions on citizenship”, the Italians residing abroad and grandchildren of those who have built Italy with commitment, sacrifice and hope are now considered a “risk to national security”. And therefore they will no longer be able to be born in Italy, to be recognized as Italian citizens. Decree 36, signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, establishes new severe limitations on the transmission of Italian citizenship by introducing elements proper to the ius soli. In short, the center -right majority is rightly opposed to giving automatic citizenship to those born in Italy to foreign parents, rejecting the ius soli. But then he denies in the name of the Ius soli the Italianness to descendants of Italians who have the wrong of not being born as my grandfather in Ivrea. This measure would deprive millions of Italians in the world of the right to citizenship, breaking a historical and cultural link that unites Italy with its scattered children across the border.
The Italians abroad have never stopped keeping the link with the motherland alive. Landing ourselves as a “risk factor” is unfair and offensive.
We have always been the natural ambassadors of Italy in the world, custodians of its culture, its values and its identity. No distance has ever erased our sense of belonging.

Dear Luis Roberto, I give Ti Del Tu, even if as far as I know you have the title of Marquis and also that of Honorable. I can only support your and your desire to formally maintain your right to give the children and grandchildren of our compatriots Italian citizenship.
First of all I dedicate this conviction of mine to my illustrious and late fellow citizen, Minister Mirko Tremaglia, who beat himself – to include the right to vote in the Constitution and the possibility of electing his own representatives to the Italians who emigrated to every country in the world.
I know that many species on the left consider you bearers of a patriotic virus seen by progressives as smoke in the eyes. The cosmopolitan idea for which the only adequate homeland is the world, and the nation is a reactionary concept prevails. Starting from this denial of Italian identity as linked first of all to the lineage, they theorize and promote a mass immigration, providing with a specific referendum the automatic recognition of Italian citizenship passed five years since anyone who has managed to set foot in Italy, and the immediate application of the ius soli and the Italian passport to those who have gone together in our country.
I know the liberal principle according to which those who do not pay taxes cannot elect anyone, and instead those who pay them yes. However, there is also the Tremagliano principle according to which it is good that in a nation like ours, which has seen millions of families emigrate pushed by hunger, there are those who can recall the legislative bodies to remember more binding links of a income reporting, especially since the communities of Italians in the world are worth more than an office of the Chamber of Commerce in propagating and spreading the Made in Italy and national interests in general. I do not forget that in Great Britain, at the stroke of the Second World War, the Italian immigrants and their descendants were interned, including children. And you do it in the name of entire Italian communities, not only resident in South America, who still speak the beloved dialect of their grandparents, preserving it after surviving colonization of inhospitable territories.
