More and more versatile, the robot vacuum cleaner is an appliance that has become a real must, as confirmed yesterday by a doxa investigation: 90% of Italians say they know these devices and 70% believe that they simplify life. Thus the companies push towards an attractive design that can take it to the center of the living room and no longer hidden in a corner of the house. This is the case of Roborock, the leader of the sector, who just yesterday launched two new top models in Italy, Saros 10 and Saros 10r. Presented at CES in Las Vegas, they promise intelligent and automated cleaning, with cutting -edge technology that washes and aspires and is able to reach even the most difficult points. We tested the Roborock Saros 10: Here’s what convinced us.
Unboxing and design
Like all the products of this category, it is necessary to have a certain space (you need to provide a space of 40×40 cm and 50 cm in height) near a power outlet. But the Saros 10 hits for its appearance: the front of the charging base is in fact covered with silver satin -colored tempered glass (also recalled on the upper side of the robot) which makes it very elegant. The choice between the white or black version then allows you to adapt it to most of the furnishings. And the automated cleaning guarantees a clean station. The housing for the detergent (not included) is present in the clean water tank.
The installation is simple and intuitive and in the package it is also a spare powder bag. The robot has the classic round shape and is equipped with an antigorroviglio duo Duo brush Divide (in fact two small rubber rollers arranged in line that push hair and hair towards the center) and a vibrant “d” cloth. Then there is a side brush with an asymmetrical design and a small round cloth for corners and edges and two rubber -wheeled wheels capable of overcoming rugs and small ups of up to 4 centimeters.
But one of the strengths is certainly the height of not even 8 centimeters (just 7.98 to be precise) which, together with the retractable turret, allows Saros 10 to really arrive everywhere, even under the sofa or up to the battiscopa of the kitchen furniture.
To complete everything is theapp Roborock that we learned to know during other tests: in Italian and intuitive, the user steps step by step in the first mapping and then in the management of cleaning, suggesting preset programs (also in the area) or the Smart Plan (totally automated cleaning), maintenance, creation of rooms or virtual walls, control of the cameras reported remotely and in general for the interaction with the device and the charging station. The voice commands in Italian are interesting that are activated with “Hello Rocky” even if, as for the other Roborock products, with a limited range of instructions that can be given to the robot.
Proof
But let’s get to the point. How did our test go? We start from the mapping, very accurate thanks to the reactive system to 3.0 and a quadruple sensor system (including lateral vertibeam ones) which also recognizes small obstacles or suspended cables. Leaving free to turn even without putting in order (or creating an ad hoc tortuous path), he has never had problems moving and never got stuck. And, also thanks to the integrated cameras, at the end of the cleaning, there were always the objects out of place on the map, never considered “permanent”. This means that in the next cleaning the Saros 10 passed without problems where he had previously detected an obstacle.
The aspiration, configurable in three levels, is excellent. Equally effective is the washing of the floor, thanks to the MOP that vibrates 4 thousand times per minute and the side cloth that is activated by lowering only when it detects the edges .. The anti -tangle brush divided to the center is really effective: even the longer hair will be conveyed towards the tank on the robot and then in the bag for the solid residue placed in the base. When we set the cleaning of the whole apartment with the Smart Plan, the device adapted well aspiration and washing power to the different environments, providing a washing of the Mop between one room and the other to avoid contamination of the surfaces.
What has impressed us most is certainly the retractable turret that has allowed Saros 10 to clean areas impossible to reach for other devices, such as under the sofa or edges of the battiscopa under the kitchen furniture. Not even the narrow space under the high chair has frightened it. It also affects the silence of the device both in the aspiration phase (just 52 dB (a)) and in that of automatic emptying (72 dB (a)).
The “Pappa test”
With a two -year -old girl in the house, the most important test is that of the “Jewish test”. We chose a spelled and legume dinner to understand how Saros 10 behaves with the most complex, humid and heart dirt. We started the preset program “after the meals” by selecting the area under the table with balanced aspiration, standard washing and a single step. Well, although not to the maximum of its power (22000 PA), on the floor there is almost nothing left: no spots, no food scattered or launched away from the side brush, nor attached to wheels or other elements. Only a bean, probably too large, survived the passage of the robot. “Pappa test” passed with flying colors.
Maintenance
Another strong point is the maintenance: the all -one recharge station cleanses independently both the robot and the base itself with 80 ° water and drying with hot air at 60 °. This guarantees perfect hygiene both for the role and other parts and avoids the formation of mold and bad smells. We just have to fill the clean water tank and empty and clean that of dirty water when the app reports it. The powder is also emptied automatically. The only slightly noisy operation – but less than other devices – which can be excluded at certain times. The recharge is quick: in just 150 minutes the battery is at most and the station is able to calculate the possible charge needed to complete the cleaning. But we must say that with 6400 mAh and a normal Milanese three -room apartment the robot has never needed to interrupt to recharge it.
The price
Roborock Saros is already available on the Roborock online store, on Amazon and in MediaWorld, Euronics and Coin stores at a launch price of 1349 euros until April 2. After this date it will be sold at a recommended price of 1499 euros.
What we liked (and what not)
The Roborock Saros 10 is certainly an excellent product, ideal for those who have little time to devote to house cleaning while maintaining a high standard: the powerful and precise aspiration, combined with a washing with warm and cleansing water and the ultra -thin design means that it can replace almost entirely human intervention. The all -one recharge base that uses 80 ° water also resolves the maintenance problem, avoiding bad smells, while the silence of the operations also makes it suitable for a condominium or in houses where there are children or animals. Few defects: the lack of a cloth that comes out of the robot area is likely not to wash narrow corners.
In addition, the range of voice commands is currently a little limited and does not allow the natural language to which Ai are getting used to us. In any case, the price is commensurate with materials and cleaning standards.
