The left is silent with anti-Semites

Illustrious Director Feltri,
without prejudice to the untouchable right to demonstrate, I would like to know from you how it is possible that the participants in the pro-Palestine procession that marched last Saturday, like every Saturday, through the streets of central Milan, carried signs with photos and names of people designated as targets and enemies? In my opinion, there would be enough to identify and arrest those who held those signs there.
Or am I wrong?
Philip Russo

Dear Philip,
I too was struck by the fact that violence and hatred towards those who hold different thoughts has now come completely out into the open and is therefore considered so normal, lawful and legitimate that these people here feel no hesitation whatsoever. in expressing openly, even publicly, what are criminal intentions, which consist in the desire to attack the so-called “Zionist agents”, as the self-styled “new Italian communist party” defines them. And among these Zionist agents, these targets, as you rightly call them, I also figure. Which, let’s be clear, doesn’t scare me, however it is not a trivial element. In fact, I ended up in the sights of these people, who wave both the Palestinian flags, in support of Hamas, and the rainbow ones, i.e. pacifists, because of my positions of explicit solidarity towards Israel, the victim state of the attack last October 7 by Hamas militias, an attack which gave rise to the ongoing war in the Middle East. A war that none of us are happy about, which horrifies us, which disturbs and pains us, because it is not pleasant to know that people are dying under the bombs, including children. Yet on the left a position full of prejudice has been taken, which is based on the idea that Hamas’ Palestine is the victim and Israel the executioner. Hence the growing hatred towards the Jews, the dangerous resurgence of anti-Semitism, more alive than ever since the end of the Second World War. We should all have been outraged by those signs, by the banning lists, by the proclaimed anti-Semitic hatred. Instead, silence prevails on the left. The progressives do not want to get in the way of the social centers, of the Islamists, who they strenuously defend, of the radical left, even at the cost of slipping into this ambiguity: this silenced attitude towards the preachers of anti-Semitism.

An emblematic example of this conduct is represented by the secretary of the Democratic Party Elly Schlein, who on Sunday condemned contemporary nationalisms which, in her opinion, would have determined the ongoing conflicts, who always blathers about alarming Nazism, racism, fascism, and does not he realizes or says that the real concrete danger today in Europe, as in the whole of the West, Italy absolutely included, is this anti-Semitic regurgitation. Far from fascism, dead and buried! The leader of the Democrats did not say a word about what happened on Saturday in Milan.

It is therefore inevitable to ask ourselves whether she, that is Elly, does not agree with the violent people, who resort to the use of threats, which represents a criminal act, i.e. a crime in all respects, a crime for which I expect these subjects to be tried and condemned.

Doubt arises spontaneously.
