The new Xiaomi 14 Series: photos and videos guaranteed by Leica

The Mobile World Congress begins today but the presentations began on Sunday. Xiaomi for example, it anticipated everyone with the debut of its 14 Series, made up of two smartphones: Xiaomi 14 and 14 Ultra. Devices that make use of the collaboration with Leica and therefore focus on high-level photographic quality. Xiaomi 14 Ultra It immediately catches attention with its design inspired by traditional cameras. Equipped with a distinctive circular camera module on the back and available in classic Black and White colors, it is a robust product with a high-strength aluminum frame, a layer of nano-tech vegan leather and Xiaomi Shield Glass. It all marks a 38% increase in endurance over its predecessors. The nano-tech vegan leather, in addition to giving the device a thin and light finish, offers six times greater wear resistance. The 6.73-inch AMOLED C8 WQHD+ display features All Around Liquid Display technology, which ensures uniform curvature on all sides and a peak brightness of 3000 nits, perfect even in bright light conditions. As we said, the main aspect of the 14 series is its exceptional photography and video capabilities. The Ultra model has a quad-camera setup that covers a wide range of focal lengths.

With a main camera which has a continuously variable aperture of ƒ/1.63-ƒ/4.0 and offers stepless iris exposure adjustments. The 1-inch LYT-900 ultra-large image sensor ensures great quality, while the 75mm telephoto lens and 12mm Leica ultra-wide camera complete the setup. Videos are very impressive, with support for 8K shooting at 30fps on all four cameras and Movie mode which introduces cinematic elements such as the 2.39:1 aspect ratio and 180 degree shutter. Finally, Director mode offers a professional interface for flexible post-production. Another extreme factor is the speed and fluidity of performance, thanks to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform which, compared to the previous model, increases CPU performance by 32% and at the same time reduces energy consumption by 34% compared to the previous version. Furthermore, the 5000mAh battery with 90W HyperCharge and 80W wireless HyperCharge guarantees long life and fast charging times: it only takes about half an hour to fill the smartphone with energy. The Xiaomi HyperOS operating system introduces advanced features such as AI Album Search, AI Portrait and AI Expansion, thus using artificial intelligence to improve the user experience. The basic version of the 14 series, although slightly more compact (6.38 inches versus 6.76 of the Ultra), does not give up performance and functionality. With an elegant design it features a complete three-camera setup that covers a wide focal range, ensuring high-quality photographic results. Furthermore, the CrystalRes AMOLED screen offers bright visual performance thanks to 3000 nits and a variable refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. All of the above (and more) rightly has its price: 999 euros starting for version 14 and 1499 for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra. But the quality is really on par with the price list.
