In a world in which the ecological and digital transition is no longer an option but a necessity, for companies of each dimension, an essential challenge arises: how to make sustainability a competitive advantage in order not to remain on the edge of a market that runs fast. And it is precisely from this awareness that “Open-ES” space is made. Born in 2021 from an idea of Eni, in collaboration with Boston Consulting Group and Google Cloud, and today supported by over 37 thousand companies in 115 countries and 66 industrial sectors, Open-ES is more than a platform, it is an alliance (with a capital capital), open and cross-sectoral, which combines companies, institutions and academic world in a common growth path. Some names? From the “A” of Accenture, Amundi or Autostrade per l’Italia and uses Baker Hughes, Baker McKenzie, Bip, Bureau Veritas, Cdp, Engineering, Esg European Institute, EY, Gianni & Origoni, Illimity, Iren, Iveco Group, Kpmg, Kuwait Petroleum Italia, Luiss Business School, Open Fiber, Polytechnic of Milan, Rina, Sace, Saipem, School Sant’Anna, SDA Bocconi, Snam, Tim, Unicredit, Webuild and many others. A community in which even historical competitors collaborate, recognizing that no reality can face the scope of the current change alone aware that the ecological and digital transition requires a systemic approach that connects different industrial, financial, scientific and institutional worlds and promotes a collaborative ecosystem capable of overcoming technological, information and cultural barriers. Open-ES does not just promote good intentions: transforms sustainability into practical tools. Meanwhile, it is an alliance that provides simple and free tools especially for SMEs, the most exposed realities on this path. Its strength is to integrate three dimensions often considered separate digital, sustainable and economy in a single path. The path of companies starts from the sustainability path, a flexible self -assessment questionnaire that adapts to the characteristics and size of each participant. The sustainability path allows each company to self -assess, obtain an ESG identity card and receive personalized improvement plans. Next to this, training programs such as ESG or Open-ES Camp skills, especially accompany SMEs in the development of the skills necessary to grow.
Large companies, as Value Chain Leader, have a decisive role: they do not just dictate standard, but act as a catalysts of change, guiding suppliers and partners to more efficient, transparent and sustainable production models. In this way, the supply chain stops being a simple supply chain and turns into a network of shared innovation.
The real Open-ES force, however, lies in the ecosystem approach.
The platform is configured as an open and collaborative space, free from technological and information barriers. The supply chains thus become collaboration and innovation networks, capable of reducing duplications, spreading good practices and creating new opportunities for all the actors involved
