It seems that Italy is ready to invest 5% of its GDP in the rearmament. Giorgia Meloni said this in line with NATO’s wishes and in accordance with the rhetoric of Western defense against Orco Putin. I think that Meloni’s decision has been almost inevitable, being in place pacts that force us to do ours, to contribute, so that the cost of defense does not serious about the United States, which understandably have become tired of this trend, crystallized by the second post -war period.

But frankly, this matter of the rearmament does not convince. And not because I am pacifist, indeed, the self -styled pacifists are not slightly on my bales. I am a man on the right and I have never had problems with the order, authority and the concept of national defense. However, you must also be realistic. Spending billions in armaments, in a country where from luster and luster, therefore certainly not because of the current majority, the beds are missing in hospitals, the judges and in schools the professors in schools, I seem to be madness. Or worse: an ideological scam. The massive rearmament presupposes that there is an imminent danger. And what is it, of grace? Who should we defend ourselves? They are making us believe that Russia wants to invade Europe, that Rome will come after Kiev. But it seems to me more a horror film written by Zelensky, who told us this plot also on the occasion of the latest NATO summit in which he took part in quality is not well known about who or what, we only noticed that at least he changed the shirt. Putin has his faults, but he does not seem to me to have neither the strength nor the interest or the intention of launching himself into an occupation of the continent. So why this alarm? Because it’s comfortable. Because it feeds the war of the war industry, which produces colossal profits for a few and insecurity for everyone. Because it serves to silence the critical voices, stamped as a Putinian only for having said that the war, perhaps, is avoided with diplomacy, not with the tanks and nuclear bomb. And I believe that patriotism consists in wanting our money to take care of our sick, to educate our children, to support families, not to fill the warehouses of bombs and missiles. The West will die. But be careful: it will not die from lack of weapons, but for the absence of meaning. And there will be no rifle that can save him. Nobody and nothing saves us from our stupidity.
