Another excellent farewell in Donald Trump’s court. Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard has resigned. His last day of work will be June 30. She formally leaves office to support her husband in his battle against an “extremely rare form of bone cancer”. However, the rumors are different: there is talk of friction with the tycoon.
Tulsi Gabbard’s resignation
“Unfortunately I must resign, effective June 30. My husband Abraham has been diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer,” Gabbard wrote in her resignation letter.
American President Donald Trump confirmed his resignation, announcing that the current deputy director Aaron Lukas will take his place – on an interim basis. “Sadly, after doing an excellent job, Tulsi Gabbard will leave the administration on June 30. Her wonderful husband, Abraham, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer and she, rightly, wants to be by his side, helping him regain his health as they face an uphill battle together,” Trump wrote in Truth. “I have no doubt that soon he will be better than ever. Tulsi has done an incredible job and we will miss her.”
Who is Tulsi Gabbard and what they say
Forty-five years old, former army lieutenant colonel who served in Iraq, Tulsi Gabbard was a candidate in the Democratic primaries for the 2020 presidential elections. In a short time she has become a big name in the Maga world.
At the beginning of 2025, the appointment as director of national intelligence arrived, to oversee the 18 federal agencies that deal with security. However, the rumors refer to a difficult relationship with Trump. The straw that would have broken the camel’s back would have been Gabbard’s positions on the conflict in Iran. He publicly contradicted Trump before Congress, arguing that there was no evidence that the regime was working to restart the nuclear program.
The president limited himself in his comments, speaking only of a “way of thinking different from mine”. But it does not seem strange that the resignation is, in reality, the result of these distances. And it wouldn’t be the first time. At the beginning of March, after the deliberate clashes in Minneapolis between citizens and Ice agents, the president fired Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem. Shortly afterwards it was the turn of Pam Bondi, head of Justice, “guilty” for many Trumpians of having mishandled the Epstein case.
