Yet another piece of a disturbing scenario, which could confirm the suspicions that have been ringing together since 7 October. Yesterday Israel Defense Forces they announced that they had found an intelligence center of Hamas under the headquarters ofUNRWA, the United Nations Agency which deals with assisting Palestinian refugees. The headquarters of the Palestinian terrorist group was traced to the Rimal neighborhood of Gaza City, where it had already dismantled a local battalion. According to IDF reports, at the time of the first ground offensive in Gaza City, the military had not found or known much about the Hamas data center. Then, at a later stage, it was possible to identify the place to dig for twenty meters thanks to the information obtained through the Shin Bet interrogations of the captured terrorists.
The discovery of the Israeli forces has sparked yet another controversy regarding UNRWA, the commissioner general Philippe Lazzarini he immediately commented: “UNRWA didn’t know what was under its headquarters in Gaza and found out about it through news spread by the media”. UNRWA staff left their headquarters in Gaza City on 12 October following the Israeli evacuation order and the intensification of shelling in the area,” Lazzarini added: “we have not used that compound since we left it and we are not aware of any activity that may have taken place there.” There will be an independent investigation, he highlighted, but it will not be activated immediately as Gaza is an active war zone.
These findings were found within @UNRWA facilities:
Acting on ISA intelligence, the forces discovered a tunnel shaft near an UNRWA school, leading to an underground terrorist tunnel beneath UNRWA’s main headquarters. The forces found electrical infrastructure inside the tunnel… pic.twitter.com/n5EWJpyI4o

- The UN wakes up: investigations into employees complicit in Hamas raids
- Report reveals: UN teachers celebrated Hamas massacre
- What is UNRWA, the UN monster that pampers the Palestinians
The debate on UNRWA has been going on for several weeks, starting from 7 October, the date of the Hamas attack on Israel. The UN aid agency has found itself in a storm over the complicity in the raids by Palestinian terrorists. Israel has in fact released evidence of the direct involvement of at least twelve employees, who were immediately fired by Lazzarini. UNRWA has around 13 thousand Palestinian employees in the Gaza Strip, where it has worked since 1949. A shocking discovery, which has pushed several countries to suspend funding: from the United States (the most generous donor, 200 million in 2023 alone) to the Great Brittany, passing through Canada, Australia, Holland and Finland, while Italy had already stopped them the day after the attack on 7 October as a precaution.
UNRWA has been in the sights of the Jewish state for years. Israel has been pointing the finger at the agency for decades for complicity with Palestinian groups. The celebrations in the chats of Palestinian teachers from schools run by the UN on Telegram for the October 7 massacre are emblematic. without forgetting the open-air celebrations by officials and collaborators. But not only. Tel Aviv has in fact identified tunnel mouths and rocket launch stations near buildings used by the agency which boasts almost 13 thousand employees and has been operating in the area since 1949: no coincidence, but a real drawing. One could not say otherwise for the discovery of weapons within the agency’s premises.
