“Take off”, with the meeting of the first board of directors of VEGA – Vertical Gatewaya newly established company dedicated to the development ofAdvanced Air Mobility in Italy, which has the initial focus on Milan and Lombardy. Vega has as shareholders Sea Milan Airportsthe management company of Milan’s airports; Skyportsa leader in vertiport infrastructure for the AAM industry and 2i Airportsthe main airport platform in Italy controlled by F2i – Fondi Italiani per le Infrastrutture and by Ardian Infrastructure.
The board of directors of the new company is made up of Paolomaria Cappello, Chiara Dorigotti, Alessandro Fidato, Damian Kysely and Laura Pascotto. Alessandro Fidato was appointed president of the board of directors and Paolomaria Cappello CEO of the company.
VEGA aims to introduce innovative and sustainable solutions for it movement of people and goods in urban and extra-urban areasusing electric and hybrid vertical take-off and landing aircraft (eVtol).
The main focus will therefore be focused oninfrastructure necessary to make advanced air mobility operational, in particular on the design, construction, development, maintenance and management of vertiports, areas dedicated to the take-off and landing of eVtol, starting from connection among them airports in the Milan system and Milan and other areas of Lombardyto extend operations to other regions of the country.
