Here he is as he enters and then exits the registry office of the municipality of Borgo Virgilio, in the province of Mantua, where he had gone to ask for the renewal of his expired identity card: not his, however, but that of his deceased mother. The man, a 57-year-old nurse, had in fact mummified the woman’s body and in the meantime collected her pension, wearing make-up and dressing like her. However, the wig and clothes did not fool the registry staff, who called the local police into action. The death of the elderly woman dates back to 2022.
